hI, i’M AMY.
I'm a mother to two boys, writer, postpartum professional, counsellor & what I feel so aptly captures it all - spiritual midwife. Midwife means “with woman / mother’.
I support women through major life transitions and mothers through pre-conception, pregnancy (and loss), birth (and trauma) to postpartum. Postpartum simply means ‘after birth’; mothers are “postpartum” for life. My passion lies in teaching and supporting women to create their own sense of safety, in their bodies and lives so that they FEEL GOOD and are fulfilled as mothers and creators.
My work is an intersection of my personal experience and professional trainings with teachers and master plants. Addiction, pregnancy loss, chronic mental health issues such as eating disorders, anxiety, OCD and postpartum psychosis, are the types of material I have worked through in the last 16 years.
My journey of healing my relationship to my body (soma) and with Spirit, are at the centre of my offerings. They have been the binding forces in my trainings with formidable leaders in the fields of embodiment, midwifery, women’s yoga, trauma, spirituality and ceremony, to name a few. Some of these are noted below:
-
Innate Postpartum Care Training with Rachelle Garcia Seliga 2020
Pregnancy Yoga Teaching Certification with Uma Dinsmore Tuli 2019 (Yoga Therapeutics for Women)
Diploma in Life Coaching + Holistic Therapy with Stonebridge College 2017 - 2019
Advanced Forrest Yoga Training with Ana Forrest 2017 (Yoga as Ceremony)
Exquisite Metamorphosis Yoga Training with Meghan Currie 2015 (Yoga as Healing Medicine)

My Approach
With the death of the village came the pathologizing of the Mother (and her baby). In a society that neglects and disempowers her, it’s imperative she embraces the initiation that life may not have prepared her for. Motherhood is the deepest path of transformation and healing, if we allow it to be. My focus is on educating and empowering mothers to centre their own needs and nervous systems, within the family system. I use tools such as somatic coaching, spiritual counselling, ritual and compassionate witnessing to work with a Mother’s belief systems and relationship to LIFE, so she feels empowered, able to build resilience and THRIVE.
I support women throughout the entire birth continuum from conception through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. This work also applies to early birth (miscarriage and termination) and to mothers of children of ANY age who want to facilitate healing or repair that they may not have had after birth. Repair is always available.
After going through numerous pregnancy losses myself, I moved away from the dogma of yoga teaching and onto a path of deep healing of my body and psyche. Somatics of Spirit is the union of my commitment to soma (body) and spirit (collective earth consciousness). This body of work comes from 16 years of sobriety, recovery from addiction, anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders and over 10 years of study with teachers, midwives, shamans, therapists, bodyworkers, and most of all, my lived experience of allowing life to break me and move through me, in order to be in service,
as a Mother devoted to Mother(s).

Mother Nurture Community
We are a diverse global community of mothers who come together 2- 3 times a month to witness, share and commune with the sacred path of mothering. Our common thread is our humanity. No dogma. No overwhelming baby advice. Just connection, community and a collective desire to create a culture that centres the needs of the Mother.

Work with me one to one
I offer intimate space holding and support for women and mothers who feel the need to be witnessed and held in a space where they are able to meet their own power and capacity to know and feel what is True. This is deep work I have been doing with a select number of clients for many years. Women who work with me in this way often do so over long periods of time as they navigate periods of change and transition. Such as (but not limited to) motherhood. My work with grief, personally and professionally has opened me up in profound ways to be able to hold complex and deep material.

Drop in to a Mother Nurture call
Mother Nurture’s Monthly Full Moon Full Bloom Call: Every full moon, we come together in her illumination to be with the fullness of what arises. We sing, cry, laugh, listen, and share.
Mother Nurture’s Devotion Practice: If we want to live in a mother-centred culture we need to centre our own needs and model it to our families. On this call, I teach on mother-centred culture and offer a postpartum care practice that we do together.
